KUALA LUMPUR, 25 April 26 2023 (Bernama) — The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) amounted to US$115.9 billion as at April 14, 2023, the central bank said.
BNM, in a statement today said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 5.1 months of imports of goods and services and is 1.1 times the total short-term external debt.
The main components of the international reserves were foreign currency reserves (US$103.1 billion), International Monetary Funds reserves position (US$1.4 billion), special drawing rights (US$5.8 billion), gold (US$2.5 billion) and other reserve assets (US$3.1 billion), the central bank added.
